Q & A for former posters from another forum

This is a thread mainly for the peeps who were with me on the old forum.

I closed the old forum very abruptly last time and I kept it closed for two years. Why? I was not getting much by the way of support of the membership. I was especially disappointed by people not even telling me if the new interfaces I installed worked.

Why have you opened the forum again?

I opened the forum again because for starters most other forums blow! They really do. I searched the internet far and wide for two years for other decent sites to post on. I found none. I was left with no choice but to re-open the site, if not just for my own posting experience.

What is to stop a repeat of last time?

I have a new plan for this. I will fill people in on this as the situation changes.

    So now what?

Same as last time: civil discussion of politics. I plan the forum to grow to the same size it was before.

On a personal note, I am a little different from before. I think that simultaneously, I am better at not offering insults, more tolerant of some people I wasn't tolerant of before, although I think I am also less tolerant of rudeness too. The opening days of the forum will be slow probably, but I expect to grow this forum from 0 -> 150, just like I did once before.

Good to see you, WEB. It's been far too long. It feels good to be home.

Hey JL95, good to see you too. Will talk more in private. I'm going to setup a private forum again too, so we can discuss more freely.

Hey AH, what took you so long?
    Read the Forum Rules

"When I entered Republican politics during an earlier period of malaise, in the late seventies and early eighties, the movement got most of the big questions -- crime, inflation, the Cold War -- right. This time, the party is getting the big questions disastrously wrong."

"In the aftershock of 2008, large numbers of Americans feel exploited and abused. Rather than workable solutions, my party is offering low taxes for the currently rich and high spending for the currently old, to be followed by who-knows-what and who-the-hell-cares. This isn't conservatism; it's a going-out-of-business sale for the baby-boom generation."

    - David Frum, former speech writer for George W. Bush

"This is just ridiculous. I never thought as an economist I would have to spend so much time doing political analysis."

    - Diane Swonk, chief economist at Mesirow Financial
