Anonymous Needs to Be Tracked Down and Jailed

    http://www.newser.com/story/139216/h...ion-fails.html

A hacker has made good on a threat to release the source code for Symantec's pcAnywhere tool after failing to extort $50,000 from the antivirus company. The release raises fears that other hackers could find security holes in the product, but Symantec says it was prepared for the move, and it has issued patches, Reuters reports. Hackers are also expected to release source code for an old version of Norton antivirus software, Symantec says.

A hacker calling himself YamaTough, part of a hacking collective affiliated with Anonymous, published details of negotiations with Symantec. "Anonymous actually reached out to us first, saying that if we provided them with money, they would not post any more source code,” a company spokesman says. “At that point, given that it was a clear-cut case of extortion, we contacted law enforcement and turned the investigation over to them."

They're too powerful and they're aggressive criminals. They need to go. Give the boys in the cyber war department something to do.

"When I entered Republican politics during an earlier period of malaise, in the late seventies and early eighties, the movement got most of the big questions -- crime, inflation, the Cold War -- right. This time, the party is getting the big questions disastrously wrong."

"In the aftershock of 2008, large numbers of Americans feel exploited and abused. Rather than workable solutions, my party is offering low taxes for the currently rich and high spending for the currently old, to be followed by who-knows-what and who-the-hell-cares. This isn't conservatism; it's a going-out-of-business sale for the baby-boom generation."

This disappoints me. I thought Anonymous actually had a conscience, going after the government to keep it in check for things like SOPA, Occupy Wall Street, etc. I thought they worked to forward more open minded political agendas, etc., important stuff. I guess there's two sides to everything and on the other side of this, some of them are just plain criminals without purpose. Don't get me wrong, I still acknowledge that what they do in terms of SOPA and Occupy are illegal. But I think those acts can serve a bigger purpose. Extortion serves no greater purpose whatsoever except the individual greed of a hacker. At the same time, I still wouldn't want to be in Anonymous' crosshairs.

I really don't know anything about Anonymous. I just assumed that they ran with Julian Assange and did the whole cyber terrorism deal whenever some company or government fucked him up the ass. I guess I'll do some research on them.

Cyber terrorism? What is cyber terrorism?

Terrorism is what the police departments of our country have done to the Occupy Wall Street movement. The police also terrorized veterans who were amongst the Occupy Wall Street movement protesters. The police have also terrorized blue-collar workers on the picket line, like in Longview Washington. And what about the terrorist in the White House? He's the biggest warlord in the world, and he's terrorizing the people of Afghanistan & Pakistan.

I wasn't aware of anonymous extorting any money. When it comes to extorting money it's the big corporations that do that. The big corporations extorted nearly $1 trillion of bailout money from the American taxpayer. That's extortion for you!

I think most people know what this term means, so there's no need to answer this question. The burden of proof is on you to answer a question like this.

No, they haven't. Occupy contains many fools in it and they were rightly arrested, evicted, etc.

    Nonsense.

Nonetheless the link proves that Anonymous attempted to extort money from an Anti-virus software company.

    Corporations extorted no one.
