    Racism on MSNBC and CNN

I haven't seen all of these alleged incidents at Fox News but the left's constant use of false racism accusations has made me (rightly) leery of any of these claims. One of the disservices the left does to blacks is make the word "racist" less meaningful. It's such an abused and overused word that it has no punch power when used against a real racist. That upsets me because I find racism to be disgusting, immoral, and, quite frankly, unintelligent. Now I would like to know what you think of some liberal racism on CNN: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WYxG0F3xubo

One of my all time favorites is this one from MSNBC: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UYKQJ4-N7LI The guy they show is a black guy and the original footage shows this but this clip was edited so that you can't see the guy's skin anywhere. This way they could use this heavily armed guy as an example of gun toting white people that are going to try to kill President Obama because they don't like that he's black. It would be funny if it were like a satire but its not. If there was real racism on the right then the left wouldn't need to make stuff up and edit video footage to make their case.

The CNN clip is not racist. It's the opposite. The CNN clip actually helps to fight against voting for Obama due to him being black. What would have happened if CNN hadn't done that segment? Then more black people might think everyone is voting for Obama because he is black and thus be more inclined to do so themselves. One of the first steps towards taking a different path is being aware of that different path's existence. I believe Obama's support among blacks is like 95%, so while the title of the clip attempts to be sarcastic, the idea that the author found funny: that practically no blacks supported McCain is actually far closer to reality than fantasy.

There is no real support for believing that the MSNBC clip is racist. If the guy strapped the assault rifle to his face, then they would have been obligated to show his face. As he had the assault rifle on his side, they showed his side.

The co-anchor Contessa Brewer is reacting on the spot to the same thing you see. The show is done live. She was no more aware of the guy's race than anyone sitting at home watching the video. Besides, it is true that Tea Party is overwhelmingly white. She was right on the substance of what she was saying anyway.

"When I entered Republican politics during an earlier period of malaise, in the late seventies and early eighties, the movement got most of the big questions -- crime, inflation, the Cold War -- right. This time, the party is getting the big questions disastrously wrong."

"In the aftershock of 2008, large numbers of Americans feel exploited and abused. Rather than workable solutions, my party is offering low taxes for the currently rich and high spending for the currently old, to be followed by who-knows-what and who-the-hell-cares. This isn't conservatism; it's a going-out-of-business sale for the baby-boom generation."

"This is just ridiculous. I never thought as an economist I would have to spend so much time doing political analysis."
