Donald Trump has gone everywhere talking about how Obama needs to release his birth certificate (even though he released it two years ago). Trump released his own birth certificate to the conservative rag Newsmax:

The amazing thing about this is that it contains just as little information as he says Obama's birth certificate has:

The only difference I can see between the two documents is that Trump's BC is signed by a "authorized officer" who is a doctor, while Obama copy of his BC is signed by the state registrar. Trump's birth certificate is not a "long form birth certificate", the same kind that Trump demands that Obama produce.
Absolutely sickening.

Looks like Ben Smith is noting Trump's hypocrisy as well:

Trump fails to produce birth certificate
Donald Trump made headlines earlier today when he provided what he said was a copy of his birth certificate -- but a quick check reveals it's actually not an official document. The paper that Trump released says "Jamaica Hospital" on top and lists the date and time of what he says was his birth to "Mr. and Mrs. Fred C. Trump." The piece of paper has a seal at the bottom.
But after several New York City-based readers contacted POLITICO's Maggie Haberman, her call to city officials revealed that an actual birth certificate, which is issued by the Department of Health, would have the agency's seal and also a signature of the city registrar - neither of which the Trump document has. Officials said the city Health Department is the "sole issuing authority" of official birth certificates in New York, and that the document would clearly say so, and "city officials said it's not an official document."
It appears instead to be a hospital "certificate of birth," meaning the piece of paper the hospital gave to his family saying he was born. Such a document typically has the signature of the hospital administrator and the attending physician. Trump lawyer and advisor Michael Cohen didn't respond to Haberman's question about the document.
Trump's mother, it should be noted, was born in Scotland, which is not part of the United States. His plane is registered in the Bahamas, also a foreign country. This fact pattern -- along with the wave of new questions surrounding what he claims is a birth certificate -- raises serious doubts about his eligibility to serve as President of the United States.
Where's the birth certificate? I don't understand why Trump won't release his birth certificate. What's he hiding? Why won't you release your birth certificate, Donald Trump? He's a Scottish Muslim Marxist.

Trump is in this for his own publicity. If he was so into this subject, he would have come out long ago with his opinion on it. He is a publicity hound, plain and simple. I'm so tired of this conversation, that it is becoming comical. We could question Trump's certficate, since it says Jamaica Hospital.

I don't think it's necessary. I think that there is a racist influence in saying that Obama is not a US citizen. Obama released his birth certificate, and whatever people want to call it, i.e. "certificate of live birth", it still says Obama was born in Hawaii. A person can call the birth certificate a shit certificate. The shit certificate still says that Obama was born in Hawaii.

Trump talks to Savannah Gutherie and Chuck Todd about birtherism:

While I think it's been covered a few times that Trump is an idiot, I wanted to point out a few things:
1) I believe Trump has previously run for President under some third party and then pulled out on them. They got played by him.
2) I have to check if Hawaii state law will give Obama a copy of his long form birth certificate. Trump did not show his original long form. He obtained a copy from New York State.

I would really like to see some evidence for point 1.

NEW YORK CNN Real estate developer Donald Trump officially changed his party affiliation on Monday to the Independence Party, New Yorks version of the Reform Party. Trump had his voter registration form handdelivered to the New York County Board of Elections on Monday, officially putting him in the New York branch of the Reform Party, according to his political adviser Roger Stone. Stone told CNN that Trump will soon begin travelling to Miami, Los Angeles and other cities to meet with Reform Party leaders to assess the prospects of winning the partys presidential nomination.

WASHINGTON -- New York tycoon Donald Trump said Monday he won't run for president because the Reform Party is "self-destructing" and can't provide the support a candidate needs to win.
"You could only win the whole thing with a totally unified party," Trump said on NBC's "Today."After months of speculation about a possible candidacy, the colorful and controversial billionaire said he was dissuaded in part by the departure of Minnesota Gov. Jesse Ventura, who had been an ally of Trump's in the Reform Party squabbles. He also took a shot at former Republican Pat Buchanan, who is seeking the party's nomination, and his unlikely supporter, leftist activist Lenora Fulani.
"The Reform Party is a total mess," Trump said. "You've got Buchanan, a right-winger, and Fulani, a communist, and they've merged."
Trump's announcement ends a lengthy flirtation with the notion that the real estate developer could tap his fortune for a long-shot bid to capture the White House as a third-party candidate. Trump said he would no longer consider running for president or vice president in 2000, even if Ventura or others got a new party off the ground. "In a number of years I might consider it," Trump said.
Stone told CNN that Trump will soon begin travelling to Miami, Los Angeles and other cities to meet with Reform Party leaders to assess the prospects of winning the partys presidential nomination.

Palin cheers on Trumps birther quest:
politico.com/news/stories/0411/52880.html#ixzz1JAZWP75B
"More power to him!" Palin told former New York district attorney Jeanine Pirro on her Fox News show on Saturday, referring to The Donald's claim that he hired probers to look into the issue.
"I appreciate that Donald wants to spend his resources in getting to the bottom of something that so interests him and many Americans," she said.
"He's not just throwing stones from the sidelines, he's digging in (to it), he's paying for researchers," she added.
But when Pirro asked Palin's view of the issue, the former Alaskan governor walked a careful line on the issue.
"Well, you know, I think that he was born in Hawaii because there was a birth announcement put in the newspaper," she said. "But obviously there's something there that the president doesn't want people to see on that birth certificate...he's going to great lengths to make sure it isn't shown. And that's kind of perplexing for a lot of people."
I think the birther issue, especially this birther cheering is racist and Palin is a racist. I think it's perfectly legitimate to do investigative journalism on the President's birthplace. Send reporters, find facts, etc, but to expect only racial minorities to provide exhaustive details of their birthplace is racist by definition. What happens when eventually we get our first Latino President? Oh, she was born in Mexico. The first Chinese President. Oh he was born in China. The first Indian President, oh she was born in Dehli. This is clearly racism. Where is Sarah Palin's birth certificate? McCain's? Bush's? Romney's? Huckabee's? How come only the black guy has to show detailed birth records?
