Here are some quotes by WEB to users of this forum. These are from the rules violation dump:
"You are a douchebag"
"You're just another inbred far right fascist."
"You ARE a complete dick head."
"Nor has the US lost its way, cock smoker. You are banned. I'll let you see this message before I ban you and you can go back to smoking some more Irish cocks, degenerate."
"I don't think you are "kind of pathetic"; you are absolutely pathetic, ignorant, a hypocrite and a fool."
"This just shows how deranged you are."
Some of these were in response to personal insults and some were not. What is going on here? I interpret the rules to forbid these types of personal attacks.

This post is a separate topic from the thread it was started on, new thread created, posts moved.

Reprisals from moderators against insult-using members is allowed by forum rules.
Forum Rule 4:
4 Forum Rules Violations may be dealt with in public or in private based on moderator discretion. A public handling of violations may be used to decrease additional rules violations, as well as bringing other transparency benefits. In such an instance, the entire post will be relocated to the Rules Violations Dump, given a thread title reflecting the nature of the rules violation, and linked to on the original thread. In the Dump, the violation will be pointed out by the moderator and the thread closed. Moderators give members the opportunity to adapt to the rules, but in order to prevent people from making attacks for free we reserve the right to reciprocate any rudeness which was directed at the forum or its members. The reciprocated comment may or may not exceed the degree of the initial violation.
Maybe I'll need to highlight this in the forum rules as well.
I think there's definitely something wrong with expecting any moderator or myself to stand by and absorb abuse.

While it is fair to ask how these blatant insults of mine were made, it's also pretty unfair to me put ONLY my quotes up without the comments they were replying towards. The heavy insults I use are a bucket of cold water when one reads them in your post, while the comments I replied towards were even worse, but you didn't include those.

P.S. To my knowledge, there are only two times on this forum where I have fired first: once when some comments were made which I think went to the effect of: the Libyan rebels should be slaughtered, and I called this deranged. The second was when I felt that millions of dead Chinese and their survivors were needlessly disrespected and taunted, and I said that saying this in public in China would cause people to attempt to kill the member. It sounds even more mild, just reading my own words.
Those are the two most precarious comments I've ever made on this forum (to my knowledge). The stuff you quote is nothing. Counter attacks towards idiots who broke the peace with blatant attacks.

I have greatly simplified forum rule 5 now:
5 People who use insults on myself or moderators should expect two things: (I) retaliation by way of being publicly insulted by myself or a moderator and a warning and (II) the posts containing the insults will be moved to the Rules Violations Dump and locked.
