View Full Version : Black Racism Exists!

Cornel West says so! Recently Cornel West, a light-skinned black man has decided that he will revoke the blackness of President Obama.

West says: “I think my dear brother Barack Obama has a certain fear of free black men . . . It’s understandable. As a young brother who grows up in a white context, brilliant African father, he’s always had to fear being a white man with black skin. All he has known culturally is white. He is just as human as I am, but that is his cultural formation.”

In an interview with Truthdig website, West now calls the president "a black mascot of Wall Street oligarchs and a black puppet of corporate plutocrats."

"And now," West adds of Obama, "he has become head of the American killing machine and is proud of it."

More from the interview:

"When you look at a society you look at it through the lens of the least of these, the weak and the vulnerable; you are committed to loving them first, not exclusively, but first, and therefore giving them priority," says West, the Class of 1943 University Professor of African American Studies and Religion at Princeton University.

"And even at this moment, when the empire is in deep decline, the culture is in deep decay, the political system is broken, where nearly everyone is up for sale, you say all I have is the subversive memory of those who came before, personal integrity, trying to live a decent life, and a willingness to live and die for the love of folk who are catching hell. This means civil disobedience, going to jail, supporting progressive forums of social unrest if they in fact awaken the conscience, whatever conscience is left, of the nation. And that's where I find myself now."

I'm not going to bother to read more of this, as I've just lost all respect for West. I also have to call out CNN contributor Roland Martin on not calling this what it is: racism. He soft-peddles it because he likes Cornel West either personally, on an intellectual level, or because they're both black.

Cornel West is most certainly a racist. Cornel used to call Obama all the time and pray for him before debates (by Cornel's own admission). Now that Obama hasn't turned the United States into a country like Germany, Obama is just an Uncle Tom, Oreo, sell out.

Just a racist.

West reminds me of a white racist I used to talk to on another political forum, who chided other white people any time they denounced racism against blacks. This white racist said that white people who oppose racism were trained like dogs by black people. He should get together with West sometime and buy him a beer.

P.S. I would also add that West follows in a long line of black racists including the Dishonorable Louis Farrakan, Cynthia McKinney, Carol Mosley Braun and the New Black Panther Party. West is not alone, and I would be more than happy to lock him and his brethren in a room with the KKK and take bets on who will be left standing.
