Why is it "grand"? It's grand, not because this is the one and only thread for all topics about Islam on this forum, it's grand because I am going to discuss a ton of different things about Islam on one thread.

Islam and US Foreign Policy

Muslims hate us because we helped Israel to survive and expand as a state. The foundation of Israel was extremely unjust. The crimes of the Nazis were paid for by the Palestinians. I'm not sure when the US started supporting this, but by 1973 the US was instrumental in keeping Israel alive. Israel took enormous losses in aircraft and tanks in the 1973 war the US replaced all of them and allowed Israel to go on the offensive. Israel had nuclear weapons at that time any way, but still Israel's victory in 1973 was significant. One can argue about how far the Egyptians and Syrians would have got even if Israel had not been re-supplied by the US. Syria got its ass kicked by Israel without any US reinforcements because the Israeli's were just better tacticians and better tankers. They kicked their fuckin' ass and the Syrians should be ashamed.

In any case, they hate us not only for that, but because we keep on giving blank checks to Israel literally. They steal land that's not recognized as theirs by the UN, they attack a democracy (Lebanon), and they keep stealing land, they do it right now as I type this. The US only enables this, vetoing criticisms of Israel in the UN and giving Israel billions of dollars every year.

That is why they hate us, that is why many Muslims love Bin Laden and that's why it took us 10 years to find him.

Muslims and Immigration to the West

I generally oppose Muslim immigration to the West. My first concern is their religious garb for women: the hijab and the niqab. That may sound dumb, to oppose people's immigration due to clothing, but they are very ugly and I don't like the mentality that's behind them either. If I ever saw a person wearing a niqab in the United States, I think I would go insane.

The entire purpose of these rags is that in order to make a man desire women less, or to make a man less likely to cheat on his wife, you have to make a woman less attractive. That is absurd. If the man is doing the cheating, the man is the problem. You don't make a woman make herself unattractive because the man has a problem. It's a philosophy of deliberately being ugly and so it's an ugly philosophy.

Another irritant for the French is that Muslims have not built enough mosques for themselves, so they often pray on the street on Fridays.

Muslims are an extremely varied group of people ethnically, religiously, economically, culturally and individually. Most Muslims I met in my life were no different than any body else and you wouldn't know they were Muslim unless they told you.

I think Muslims are just like any other people who become more sophisticated over time. Muslims just need that time to develop their own countries, drop the dumb shit like the hijab and niqab and then a great many of them will be little different from Christians or Jews, except that they have a different theology and religious rituals, just superficial differences.

Still, I want to see no niqabs or hijabs in the US and so until they move away from that, their immigration should be restricted. While Europe is moving towards this, the US may not be able to. US immigration laws used to be racist and so they were legally binded to not be racist in the Civil Rights era. Changes in the immigration law could be harder than they are in Europe and there is less of an appetite for them here. Likely, they won't change for a long time. The problems that the US has with lots of Muslims wearing hijabs and niqabs and being anti-American is not as bad as in Europe (since they are a smaller percent of the population here) but I think already we see too much of the hijab.

Also, it might surprise people to know that I have participated in Muslim prayer services, including praying 5 times towards Mecca. I have absolutely nothing against the decent parts of Islam. I think it's just common sense that Muslims should do their prayers in a mosque, just like I did.

P.S. I'm not a Muslim either, nor a Christian. I just enjoy different cultures.
